Israeli COGAT Representatives Cancel Visit to Dutch Parliament Following March 30 Movement Complaint and Demand for Arrest
The Hague, June 19, 2024 - In a significant turn of events, representatives of COGAT (Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories) have canceled their planned visit to the Dutch Parliament due to a formal complaint filed by the March 30 Movement. Instead, the representatives addressed the parliament via video link earlier today.
This decision follows a strong demand from the March 30 Movement for the arrest of COGAT representatives, citing severe violations of international law, including the use of starvation as a weapon of war against Gaza civilians. The movement views the cancellation as a small but significant victory in its ongoing campaign for justice and accountability.
"The cancellation of their visit is a testament to the power of collective action and the pursuit of justice," said Haroon Raza, Secretary General of the March 30 Movement, who was leading a group of protesters in front of the parliament. When asked about future actions, he assured that "this is just the beginning. We will continue to pursue all those responsible and involved in the genocide in Gaza. Justice must prevail, and impunity must end."
The March 30 Movement remains steadfast in its mission to expose and challenge severe violations of human rights and international law.
