On this Land Day, the March 30 Movement Just Filed an ICC Complaint Against Netanyahu and Settlers for Land theft a.o.
THE HAGUE, MARCH 30 2024– The March 30 Movement, represented by attorney Haroon Raza, filed a detailed complaint with the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Dutch-Israeli illegal settler Akiva van Koningsveld, and other Israeli settlers. This action accuses them squarely of participating in or being complicit in land theft, colonization, acts of genocide, alongside their ongoing involvement in a broad spectrum of war crimes and crimes against humanity within the Occupied Palestinian Territories. The accusations we bring to the ICC encompass the gravest violations of human rights and international law, including the forced displacement of Palestinians, illegal appropriation of their properties, and the establishment and maintenance of an apartheid regime, culminating in allegations of genocide—each an intolerable breach of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. The ICC, with established jurisdiction over the territories of Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem since 1967, is called upon to take decisive action against these severe allegations. Our complaint is bolstered by comprehensive evidence documented by globally respected organizations such as Amnesty International, The United Nations Human Rights Office of the High Commissioner, Human Rights Watch, and B’Tselem, alongside direct testimonies from those who have suffered these atrocities firsthand. Today, the March 30 Movement reasserts its determination to fight tirelessly for the rights and dignity of the Palestinian people. We call on the international community and the ICC to urgently initiate a thorough investigation into these systematic and brutal policies and actions. The time for overlooking or downplaying the crimes against Palestinians must come to an end. Our message is clear: we are here to intensify our legal and public advocacy until those responsible for these heinous crimes, including the ongoing genocide in Gaza, are held fully accountable. We are committed to pushing this case forward, supplying new evidence, and rallying global support until justice is achieved for Palestine. May March 30th forever stand as a symbol of indigenous resistance against colonial oppression across the globe. Long live Palestine.
